Food History Weekend is an annual event hosted by the National Museum of American History that includes programming and (prior to 2020) a high profile gala dinner during which the Julia Child Award is presented to an outstanding member of the culinary arts community. The museum needed a suite of materials with a cohesive identity that had its own visual style but that could complement the museum's existing brand identity.

Approach

An initial research and collaborative discovery process with the event team and museum curators led to uncovering the central themes of empowerment, energy, and community. This remained constant throughout each year’s iteration, with key visuals reinterpreting but maintaining a strong message linked to a sense of sharing and inclusion.
